C40 Chair New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Rio de Janeiro Mayor Eduardo Paes will host mayors from the world’s largest cities – the C40 Cities – for the Rio + C40: Megacity Mayors Taking Action on Climate Change event, taking place in conjunction with the Rio+20 conference on sustainable development.
The day-long event will bring together global city leaders and technical experts to discuss how cities are taking meaningful action to mitigate and adapt to climate change, and will encourage a greater commitment toward reducing greenhouse gas emissions and creating sustainable communities.
Mayors or senior level officials from more than 35 cities, including the following cities are expected to attend.
