In 2012, C40 Cities took the web by storm. We kicked off 2012 with an infographic released by our partners at the Carbon Disclosure Project showcasing the superhero potential of cities when it comes to climate change. The infographic was based on a research partnership between C40 and CDP that collected climate change data from 48 cities around the world.
Yesterday we shared with you an infographic about the important role cities can play in the fight against climate change. Today we want to share with you an infographic that shows actual solutions being put in place by C40 cities. While being informative and instructive, today's infographic also uses a new, unique (yes even cool) 3D technology to help tell the story in a more compelling manner. (The technology is brought to you by our partners at the Barbarian group.) So take a look and let us know what you think – not only about the solutions our cities are providing, but also about the technology we are using to tell the story.
We hope you all remember our "Why Cities?" infographic from back in June. If you don't, we are sharing it again. Sure, Grist called it "gorgeous" and Mashable saw the Infographic and said "cities are at the forefront of innovation" and we appreciate their kind words. But more importantly we are sharing it again because the world's cities do offer perhaps our greatest hope of addressing the impacts of global climate change by taking actions at the local level. And, well, OK we are also sharing it again because we do think it is a pretty cool infographic.
In a new media partnership, C40 has teamed up with CNN International and today unveils a seriously cool infographic on climate impacts and actions in global cities. The dynamic, multi-media feature spotlights the cities of Lagos, Melbourne, Paris, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo and showcases data from the recently published Measurement for Management CDP Cities 2012 Global Report.
