Cities Today magazine connects on BRT
PUBLISHED April 29, 2013
This month’s issue of Cities Today – a global magazine designed for influential policymakers in the urban development space – features an in-depth article about the C40 BRT Network, which promotes development and deployment of Bus Rapid Transit in cities across the globe.
Today, there are over 160 versions of BRT systems in 23 countries, and the enormous variation among them has fostered the need for the C40 BRT Network, which helps C40 cities share their knowledge, expertise, and insights related to implementing BRT systems.
“A Bus Rapid Transit system is an innovative, efficient, high capacity and cost effective transport solution but BRT systems are complex and depend on a number of features to make them a success, meaning there are good and bad examples across the world,” says C40 BRT Network Manager Andrés Fingeret in the article.
The article also highlights C40’s partnership with EMBARQ, a World Resources Institute program that provides on-the-ground expertise relating to urban transit solutions.
